Here at PDC we're going to take a stand against supporting workarounds for getting YouTube content onto people's PSPs. The logic behind this move comes from multiple concerns which will be addressed in detail below.
1. YouTube has no intent in creating a PSP compatible site. It focused on getting its streaming videos to computer and cell phone users, but has neglected niche electronics such as the PSP. Unless YouTube voices a concern for PSP users, don't hold your breath in getting something from there end. It isn't YouTube's responsibility to dumb their website down for the PSP to take advantage of their services. YouTube, being owned by Google, constantly updates its service using newer (less PSP friendly code) to make their site better. They are doing a good job and there isn't any reason to suggest they alter their course of action.
2. The legality of YouTube is that by using their services, you concede to their terms.

As you can see, unless they provide a link to their content then it is against their wishes to copy/download their videos.
3. Neither Sony (the people who make the PSP) nor Adobe (the people who make Flash) have any plans to upgrade the PSP's flash capability. It has long been rumored that this was a feature that was about to be released. It is now 2+ years later and still not so much as a peep about this but people still believe it will happen. It is fool hearty to say the least, for someone to believe in this since this rumor has no basis in reality and until there is any mention from Sony or Adobe about this topic we should lay it to rest.
And that about sums it up. It is sad that the little system that could do so much does in fact have a short coming in this respects but that's something everyone needs to realize. You can attempt to contact any of the parties above in a hope to possibly get stuff done for the PSP but that is to be done by yourself and without PDC's assistance. Any links to sites dealing with YouTube video downloading will be removed.
It may also be a good time to point out that unless a link is approved by our staff (and that means being listed in our Links section) then you shouldn't be posting it here. It may very well get your account banned and no one really wants that.
