Here is what to expect in this forum ...

NEW NEWS: PlayStation Mobile
The new face of PS Suite, they just re-branded it to sound like what it actually is ... a mobile development platform compatible across a number of Sony certified devices (see below PlayStation Certified). The newest news is that an open beta for prospective developers is now available and you can see how easy/hard it is to make games on the service before they ask for you to pay to be a developer. You will still need to be quality checked by Sony and they do ask for a yearly fee for you to be considered a developer. But the bonus is that if you aren't part of a huge company, you can still create games that are playable across Vita, tablets, and phones. If you wish to develop games and have questions about the making of games, refer to the FAQ.


OLD NEWS: PlayStation Suite
PlayStation Suite is a new line of PlayStation software that will be made to run on devices that run the Android operating system such as cellphones and tablets. As you can see from the photos below (thanks Engadget), the software that they are going to be releasing will consist of PSone games. The good news is that new software intended for this PS Suite will be getting made and released this year for PlayStation Certified labelled devices. This games that will be part of the PS Suite are going to be Sony PlayStation quality. PlayStation Suite software will be compatible with some PlayStation devices (PSV most likely & PS3 more likely than the PSP). Some games that have been shown internally in Sony have been God of War and LittleBigPlanet.





PlayStation Certified
Currently the only devices to be certified are the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play smartphone and the Sony S1 and Sony S2 tablets.

The Xperia Play is a cellphone with a slide out control pad for gaming (see below). It has the standard PlayStation buttons, directional pad, L and R shoulder buttons, and virtual analog touch pads that take the place of analog sticks/nubs. The Xperia Play also has all the bells and whistles that a normal Android cellphone has, such as a 4 inch touch screen, gyro-sensors, 5 megapixel rear camera, and SD mirco expandable memory. In the US, the Xperia Play is available only on the Verizon network initially, in the UK, carriers O₂, Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, & Three have confirmed to stock the handset, and in Canada, the device is carried exclusively by Rogers Wireless.
