Sony has announced plans to shut down the PSP comic service in September, and new content will no longer be added to the store as of March 15 in Japan. The US and European ends stopped updating last summer. The comics tab will also be removed from the main PSP interface, but those who have purchased comics through the service will still be able to access the content until the end of the year. After which, comics will no longer be accessible, so in order to continue having access, Sony suggested using the Media Go program. Meanwhile, the firm is looking into offering comics and other digital books through other Sony and PlayStation brand products and services. Thanks, Andriasang.

Comics aren't for me but thought people should know.

It's sad to see another PSP service being taken down, but this is hardly surprising. I've never once heard of somebody purchasing a digital comic through PSN.

And this service was meant to be coming to vita originally...

Didn't use this service that much (well not at all really), but it worked pretty well and could be much better if it worked across all SEN devices (Tablets, Vita etc.)

Well it does say they are looking into offering the service on other products so I don't see why it not go to VITA and previously planned PS3 if it does come back.

As a comic collector I used this simply to preview books I couldn't buy in stores without ordering.

Shame, I read the entire Black Crusade series through this service since it was cheaper than getting the physical copies, but hopefully Sony, look to integrate it into the Vita or any other Sony device that now supports SEN.

I agree. If they had real ebooks also it may have been a better book store in general. Hopefully the vita becomes a reader. Maybe they can team up with Amazon.

About $20. Probably less. I prefer paperback to digital.

I'd rather see E-Books on the PSP.

the psp will now completely die out, most if not all online game servers are gone or dead, store is dead and about to be globally dead, and comics are being taken down

I honestly doubt it, but they might slow down psn updates until it eventually dies out. Like a giant fire slowy burning out over the years

Well when or if the PSP dies we can take pride in that it served its purpose for wat it was meant to be until the PS VITA came along, long live the Portable Gaming device, R.I.P. The PlayStationPortable
