Yup, you can download MotioninJoy and use your PS3 Controller to play PC Games.

Although it wont work with all pc games. But it really comes in handy if youre playing emulators

Thank you very much, this was bobbing in the back of my head for a while.

So i simply plug my ps3 controller in and that software will detect it? i want to try it with minecraft.

look at some tutorials its pretty confusing. i got mine working but i dont know how

I think the program i use is called like DS3 tool. Well anyways i dont think you can switch all minecraft controls from keyboard/mouse to controller and anyways it wouldnt be as good. Turning would be a lot slower or if fast, harder to control

Make sure to enable 360 mode. Many games will recognize it as a Xbox controller and automatically configure their controls.
(Ex. Half Life 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Skyrim, OnLive, etc...)
