I used my Go to listen to music as I slept so I put a sleep timer on it. When I woke up, I turned it on, and for only a second, the display was on before cutting to black. Whenever I turn on my Go, I can hear sounds but the screen is turned off. This happened to me before but within minutes it fixed itself, now the screen wont turn at all. Any solutions? Apparently there is something about a connector ribbon inside but opening my Go is a last resort.

is the screen on when you slide the go down? if so its a loose connection. if not then the screen is damaged at least in my knowledge. DO NOT open your psp unless you are out of warrenty and you feel capable of doing it cause you can make things worse and/or dont have enough money to send it to sony
EDIT:dont have a go but does it have some kind of screen button like normal psps This post was edited by timjames47 (06-19-2012 15:05 GMT, 337 days ago) |

The screen does not turn on either when it is open or closed. However, I used it during the day to listen to music (dont need a screen for that) and at lunch time when I turn it on, the screen is on. I put it away, and when I check up on it, its not working again. This happened to me a couple months ago but only lasted five minutes.

@Untamedbeast No, I read it but there never was a solution to it. Strangely, the person had the same thing happen after 3 months and me, 2 and half years, so I dont think its wearing down or anything.

No, it doesn't but the WA7JK's post (#2) is most likely is what you need to do.

I didnt quite see a faint image, but it still works wirhout display. Could I send it to Sony even though its out of warranty, if so, estimated cost? And if I cant , Ill probably have to open it but I never opened a Go before and I have no idea how Ill open the screen when it slides like that nor do I know what to replace and what not.
UPDATE: Okay, Im positive now that the backlight burnt out or something because I booted up a game and saw it playing. Does anyone know how to fix a backlight on the Go? This post was edited by jonLH (06-20-2012 02:50 GMT, 337 days ago) |

Safest way is to send it to Sony. Or buy a new psp GO.

Okay, so I figured, I got nothig left to lose with a PSP that does nothing, so I opened it up. I opened the back case and after some poking, I realized that it was too complicated to get through to the display without breaking or losing a piece. So I instead cleaned out the dust inside and put it back together. When thats done, I turn it on and, voila, the display is working again. Im not sure whether if the dust was causing the problem or my screwing around did something. However, this may be a fluke and only temporary so Im not sure if it will last for long.
