Tried fixing the connection issues the way Playstation support told me. Disconnected from DLNA server, shut the PS3 off, unplugged the router and modem for two minutes and plugged them back in (found that the antenna was removed by someone, not sure why, so I fixed that too), booted PS3 into safe mode and chose option 3 (restore file system). Tried downloading this game for like the 4th time. Still no luck. Corrupted upon install once again. Any advice on what to do in the meantime before I get another response from the support team?

After all that I'd say its a server side problem. To determine this we need someone who can download the same game...

I believe Sony are hosting corupt files on thier content servers. I suggest entering a european proxy in the network settings and redownloading.

I was actually able to download Ratchet and Clank just fine on the first try. It was a 15GB download too. I guess it was just luck or something. However I just learned that we previously owned the same model of this router (Linkysys WRT54G2), and replaced it since it gave noticeable connectivity issues (all devices had trouble with it). I'm not sure why we bought the same model though, but it was a long time ago. I'm assuming that now this router is experiencing the same issues as its predecessor. It seems to be coming clear that this router is causing the problem. The problem is that I can't be 100% sure unless I download the game through an ethernet cable, and the nearest one is in a different room with a computer monitor without an HDMI port. So this means I have to move my PS3 and TV set (only about 18", so its somewhat portable) into a different room, move the computer monitor out of the way, find a spot for my PS3 (the computer room is a mess) and leave it there all night to download a game, which is a real pain though, but it seems that its the only way possible. Any other wireless suggestions before I set up camp there?

I would "set up camp" test your wired connection and if you need a budget router this should do: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122235

Try plugging in the ethernet cable into your PS3 directly from your modem (bypassing the router).

Try downloading with a non US proxy. If Sony are hosting corupt files on their network then you can bypass the geographical location of the content hosting server.
The game consistently corupting at the same percentage time during install also points toward an error on Sony's side.

Just bcus youve got 1 b4 that didnt work right, you cant rate all netgear routers on it.
Most cheap routers ($100 or less) suck. If you want something good you gotta pay.

The PS3 can't really take full advantage of newer routers though, it only supports Wi-Fi G (not Wi-Fi N) and only 2.4 Ghz (not 5 Ghz).
