video attaches to the back of the main board and can't be unplugged, and power goes to the power supply unit and then attaches to the board.
while it can be easy to forget to hook up the power supply to either the back plug or the board, i don't know if solving that issue will fix your no-video issue. |

Did you keep it in a cool or cold room?

thanks guys , yeah im sure everythings plugged in, i now know that the issue is the main power supply that the back plug in for the lead is attached to, but its ok i have 2 ps3s so im making 1 with the 2. and yes my ps3 was outside when i heated it up , but it worked when i plugged it in about a hour after but had no image thats why i took it apart again i think i must of damaged something. and my power is fine my other ps3 worked. but btw they both have ylod thats why im trying to fix 1.

its nothing to do with the motherboard , its the silver box thingy that the main power is connected to. i put the motherboard into my other ps3 and it worked.

the "ylod" isn't always fixable with the stuff outlined online.
the causes for the yellow light are; - detached GPU - detached CPU - issue w/ power supply you can fix the first two using methods online, but if it is a power supply issue ... then you need to buy a replacement power supply. |
