Street Fighter Alpha 2 is the seconded game in the Street Fighter Alpha series. As many SF games, they came out on multiple systems. This game it self came on the arcade, PlayStation 2, Sega Saturn, SNES, and even Windows (Don't count the PlayStation version, as I'm reviewing it). As I said in the Street Fighter Alpha review, their is a total of 7 games:

These are the only games that are truly apart of the series. You don't cant some other games since they are spin offs. So only count the alpha and the normal series apart of it. Also if you don't know, the Alpha series is a prequel of Street Fighter 2.

PS Store description: Street Fighter Alpha 2 explodes on the screen with lightning - fast gameplay. Push your skills to the limit as you discover new hidden moves and reversals for every character. (This game can be bought on the PS Store for only $5.99 requires 347MB)

Gameplay: Like most Street Fighter games, they all consist of the same system. Well not this one, the gameplay has been reamped from the original Street Fighter Alpha game. Once you pick up and play this game, you will notice this distinct difference between the other games. In this game, they have striped the "Chain Combos" and switched it with the new "Custom Combos". This was a great idea for them to do, as I liked the custom combos more. The Custom Combos is kinda hard to explain though, so I'm going to use the manual to let it explain to you.

Custom Combos: Street Fighter Alpha 2 gives you more ways to play! Create your own rapid-fire assault of multi-combination's that will pulverize your opponent. When your "Super Combo Level Gauge" reaches level 1 or above, you're ready to do a "Custom Combo". Here's what to do:

Press 2P+ AK or 2K + AP

This activates the "Custom Combo" system. You will see your character explode into a "Custom Combo". Above the "Super Combo Level Gauge" will be the "Custom Combo Timer". You only have a certain amount of time to create the combo. Once the timer reaches zero, the combo will end. While in the combo, execute any punch, kick, or special move up to make up your multi-hit combination. Super Combo moves are not available in "Custom Combos".

This game finally has 2 of 3 characters that I like. They're Rolento, Adon, and Cody. I'm just mad that Cody is not in Alpha 2, but he is still in Alpha 3. Like I said in the first game review, each character has a different combo system to execute moves. Like Guile, Charlie has to do the 2 sec back then move forward + AP to do is special move "Sonic Boom". M. Bison does this annoying thing too with his "Psycho Shot". For those people that are just starting this game, start with Ryu and his hadoken. As his moves are the easiest to pull off. I use the character Rolento, since he has that hanging move as his special. Like every fighting game you should play each before you start the game.

Last Note: Like most (almost all) there are multiple endings depending on what you do during the story mode. Like if you defeat 6 people in a row with a special move, you will get a challenger. There are also "Evil Ryu" and "Shin Akuma" that are in this game. Like the other games they need to be selected by pressing a button for a certain amount of seconds. This game was the first game to have these characters.

Alternatives: Their are a few games that you can pick over this. Since this is a fighting game there are quite a few games. Guilty Gear: Judgment, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, Street Fighter Alpha , or if your not looking for fighting games you can try these games. Battlefield Bad Company, Uncharted, or even PixelJunk Eden.
