Have you ever wanted to have some gambling fun, but you don't want to risk losing any real money? Do you want to play some poker, but you don't have anyone to play with? Then you might want to consider looking into the mini called Card Shark.

Not Just Poker
All in all, this mini comprises of five popular card games; Blackjack, Five Card Draw, Higher or Lower, Solitaire, and Texas Hold'em. You play these games to gain virtual money through winning, and if you lose, you walk away with nothing.

Anything Besides the Card Games?

Well to be truthfully honest, not much. The only thing you can do with your hard earned cash is buy new themes for the game. There are a total of five themes to purchase which change the way the game looks but does not affect the gameplay. This means that once you have unlocked all the themes, there is no longer any goal. If you like playing cards just to play, then you can continue playing for fun. At times, I found the game to be very addicting. I continued replaying Higher or Lower, over and over again, to try and win. Even though there isn't much to it, you still might find yourself playing this for quite a bit of time. Apart from that, there wasn't much else that I cared to do. Once I unlocked all the themes, the game lost its appeal, and so I stopped playing it. Unless I get really bored and fancy a game of Blackjack, then you won't be seeing me return to play this game.

The background music in the game is good, and there are a few different tracks that play. One problem is that the track loops during a game, and the repetition is noticable. In terms of graphics, they are okay, but definitely have room for improvement.

So What Now Then?
Card Shark is an alright game if you like casino games. However, if you don't like games that lack content, then this isn't really for you. Even though this is a card game, I still believe that the game could be improved significantly to attract more players. The game could really do with a few extra features here and there, but overall it is what a mini is supposed to be. If they had more things to unlock, I wouldn't have gotten as bored with the game as quickly as I did. I have no doubt that some will find much enjoyment from this game. Luckily you won't have to drop too much money on the purchase to find out for yourself.

Card Shark is a mini developed by Midas Interactive and is on sale for 2.99 / 3.59 on the European PS Store. The game is only 14mb in size, and I played it for just under an hour on the PS3.
