Prologue
Call of Duty inspires hate today. Some of it is justified, but the rest of it is completely nonsensical… From the heavy contrast of 89 out of 100 averages of critic reviews to 30 out of 100 average for user reviews; that situation tells you something. I stated earlier this year, in my Dissidia 012 review, that normal people can’t be reviewers themselves. Of course, there is a point where they stop being normal people to become trolls. Oh and the internet is plagued by them right now. Usually, when I wanted a second opinion aside from my main review sources, I’d look for the user reviews section to see how people thought how the game was. That isn’t the case with Call of Duty anymore. If you want a decent and mainly objective opinion go to the Critic Reviews or go to professional sites. Or else read my review. Maybe I’m the right guy to tell you, I’ve been a Call of Duty fan since Call of Duty 3 (disappointing that it wasn’t released on PC, such a shame), even while handled by Treyarch, Call of Duty 3 featured intense levels, and the final one, Chambois was absolutely intense and exhilarating. Call of Duty 4 did nothing more but to expand that intensity and put it in the context of a Modern Warfare. And the success was, well most of you can tell by now. Looking back at 2007 when Call of Duty 4 was one of the best shooters with no one questioning its place is nostalgic. But popular things always get a decent amount of dislike, be it true dislike, just irrational hate, or the ignorant trolling on a given title. I’m not talking about a Call of Duty, heck I’m not even talking about a video game, but the entertainment industry itself.
As for you, well the only thing you need to know is that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 delivers almost the same it’s been delivering for 4 years. And although you may not be surprised by how similar it is to its predecessors, you may be surprised by how fun the game actually is. The campaign is by far the most intense the series have had. Impressive set pieces and locations fueled not only by scripted sequences but by the over the top shooting that takes place during all the levels. But enough talking, let’s get to the issue at hand.
